Conchi Rico Albert graduated in English Studies (Licenciatura en Filología Inglesa) from the University of Alicante and in Translation and Interpretation Studies (German, Spanish, English, Italian) (Diplom-Übersetzerin) from the University of Mainz (Germany). She holds also a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language (MEELE) from the University of Alcalá de Henares. Currently she is completing her Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics with a doctoral thesis about the manifestation of the emotions in Spanish phraseology from an interdisciplinary perspective.
She has wide teaching experience at several German universities (Mainz, Mannheim, Frankfurt/Main, Kassel), where she has taught Spanish as a Second Language at all CEFR-levels, Spanish Cultural Studies, Intercultural Communication, Spanish Linguistics and Economic Spanish. Actually she is a lecturer of Spanish at the University of Kassel. She has been a Visiting Researcher and Scholar at the University of Alicante (2003) and Pompeu Fabra (2004). She is also a professional translator of scientific literature and has translated among others a monography of Ulrich Prill, a renowned German scholar of Spanish Literature about Benito Pérez Galdós (La evanescencia del mito. Benito Pérez Galdós como mitoclasta y mitógrafo, 2014, Peter Lang Verlag). Conchi Rico Albert’s main research interests are intercultural communication of emotions, phraseology and phraseography of emotions in Spanish as a Second Language and Cognitive Linguistics, especially Cognitive Phraseology and Cognitive Translation Studies. She is currently a member of MARA (Marburg University Research Academy), where she participates in the programme EMF (“Entwicklung und Management von Forschungsprojekten”), which is focused on designing and managing research projects in general and third-party funded projects from Germany and from the EU. Now she is preparing her own research project related to multilingual phraseology of emotions. She has participated in the research project IDIOMAT (Idiomaticidad contrastiva alemán-español, Universidad Complutense de Madrid) from 2011 until 2014 and now she is as an external member of the project LINCON (Code GID-33: Grupo de Innovación Docente del Programa de Innovación y Formación Docente, supervised by Professor Carmen Mellado Blanco). Since January 2017 she is an external member of the research project "EMOtion and language at work: The discursive emotive/evaluative FUNction in Different Texts and work conTexts". |
